General fraternity information is sent to all incoming freshmen students and all transfer students during the early weeks of July. During this time, students interested in learning more can have any questions answered by contacting any of the Recruitment Counselors. Students can register during this time. |
| August |
Those who have registered for Fall Rush will be contacted again with additional information about Fall Rush. This information will give you an in-depth view of fraternity life here at WVU, additional information about each chapter, and provide you with a schedule of rush events from the beginning of the Fall semester through Formal Rush.
These events offer prospective members the time to socialize with other potential and current members of the fraternities on campus and allow you time to decide which fraternity may be best for you.
Fraternity Orientation/Guest Speaker - To be held on Wednesday, August 27 inthe Blue Room of Towers Residential Complex. During this event, interested students learn more about fraternities; their origin and history, purpose and value to society. You will meet with campus and fraternity representatives such as the WVU Greek Advisor and members of the Interfraternity Council. We will also hear from a special guest speaker at this event. Time and place will be posted on this page in the coming days.
Meet the Greeks/House Tours - If you thought about joining a fraternity this fall, come on down to Meet the Greeks on Wednesday, Sept. 3 on the Lair Plaza. At Meet the Greeks, fraternity members are on-hand to answer your questions and share information about their specific organization. Sororities also rush new members during this event on the Plaza.
Directly following Meet the Greeks, House Tours will be offered. This is a great opportunity to see the inside of each fraternity house on campus and ask questions about liviing arrangments.
Chapters will provide tours, presentations, and will answer questions related to Greek Life, housing, finances, etc.
