Phi Delta Theta, one of the largest international fraternities, is
built on over 148 years of traditional, brotherhood and excellence.
Installed at WVU on March 12, 1927, Phi Delta Theta offers the opportunity for Brotherhood through social and community service functions while an undergraduate at WVU, but more importantly a Brotherhood for life. In our actions, we
exemplify the rich tradition and perseverance of Phi Delta Theta. Phi
Delta Theta invites you to come join the tradition that over 180,000
men have shared since the Fraternity's founding in 1848. Many brothers
share our great tradition. Phi Delta Theta deems the pledge program as
an important step that helps young men grow during their college
careers. Phi Delta Theta follows a strict policy against hazing. The
men of Phi Delta Theta feel that a pledge program should provide, not
only an education in Phi Delta Theta, but an academic and social
stimulation as well.
A few notable famous Phi Delt’s:
Neil Armstrong, Purdue University, 1955 – Commander of Apollo 11 and first man to walk on the moon

Phi Delta Theta offers more than simply a campus

Part of the Phi Delta Theta foundation's aim is to award scholarships to deserving undergraduate members and those pursuing advanced degrees in various graduate schools. Each year, it provides over $150,000 in scholarships. The foundation is also essential in supporting programs such as the Emerging Leaders Institute, the Leadership Consultant Program, and portions of the General Convention as well as the Scroll, the official magazine of the fraternity. The foundation, which was established in 1962 with only $4,708, has since grown to over $14 million.
